Hey, we can't possibly let the Things I Like thread go unchallenged
Complaint: I got bitten by a spider on my elbow while I was sleeping. Three times.
Also, its forecast to be 36 on Sunday. Yuck.

ohmygodddddddddddddddddddddd.
I've had it in my mind for weeks that the Fiery Furnaces show was on a friday. Apparently not. I just looked on the venue website to find directions and saw that it was tonight. And I've missed it. And I thought the Andrew Bird show was the night before The Fiery Furnaces, on a night I wouldn't be able to see him, but it was actually on a night which would have been fine to see him.
It was all so certain in my mind.
I really don't know how this happened.....
I've just got round to the stage where I'm actually starting to find the stupidity of it all quite funny. This laughing stage is better than the initial wanting to bang my head on a brick wall stage
Okay, I've done some re-tracing of steps and realised where the problem was. My friend Michael who is also going to the Andrew Bird show emailed me telling me it was on a thursday, and I knew that The Fiery Furnaces were the day after Andrew Bird, so I just had it in my mind from then on that it was Andrew Bird Thursday and The Fiery Furnaces Friday. Damn. I'm not passing the blame though, I should have realised myself. I guess if I was seeing somebody like eels or tom waits i might have, because id be paying more attention to the fact that i was seeing them at some point. not that i didnt want to see andrew bird or the fiery furnaces a lot - i just wasnt really thinking about seeing them or getting very excited.

I'll see them next time they come. I haven't been a fan for very long, so I haven't been able to absorb their albums as much as I'd like yet.
by the next tour i will most likely have had time to do that, which is good.
And the ticket was only £8 so I don't feel like I've wasted too much money. But yeah, it sucks.
Complaint: I have an exam tomorrow.
Complaint numer 2: I was going to type something but have now completely forgotten what it was. My memory sucks.

Ok, good to put things in to perspective
I've been quite in to them actually.
I initially wrote a whole talk about them here but it belongs in to the music forum, so I cut it and I'll post it there. _________________ Only the sea makes sense

I empathise. I just had one a few hours ago. I went okay actually, but there were a few left of field questions which I wasn't expecting. *sigh*
I swear, its some sort of tradition for my friend to have a sneezing fit in the middle of every exam. She makes the funniest little squeeky sneezing noises and I always have to restrain myself from laughing. Today she sneezed three times, which is okay. Four means you are going to die. Erm...if you are Japanese and supersitious, that is.

Dang, yeah. i've never completely forgotten and missed a gig, but I've come close a couple of times. The most recent was the 'With Strings' tour at the Albert hall. I had the day wrong in my head and I didn't get tickets beforehand - they were sold out by the time I'd got the money.
I only found out how wrong I was when I was on Jeannie's, and somebody I knew was going to the show had posted "12 hours 'till the Eels!".
I cut that one mighty fine.
It all worked out well though, I bought tickets at list price from a tout outside and ended up in row 7! Good times. _________________ Seven days without a pun makes one weak.

Thing I hate: these things to keep out bots that are so hard to read that I need to try seven different letter combination before I'm actually right. Last time I checked I was not a bot. _________________ Only the sea makes sense

| Yeah I'll second that; those are annoying. Typepad makes people fill them in before commenting. I would turn mine off if I knew how.

On the missing gig thing...
I once showed up at a Smashing Pumpkins gig in Chicago, at the United Center, a week early. It wasn't my fault, though, I blame my friend James. A group of us were walking up to the venue...and we couldn't figure out why all these parents with little kids were at the same concert. Turns out the circus was on that night. SPs were a week later.
No, we did not stay for the circus.
No complaints! Today has been a good day:) _________________ Randomanthony blogs at randomanthonyreturns.blogspot.com

Night life is just fucked up in this modern world.
I do feel to need to go out. But I wish I could go to some medieval town with cool pubs full of people drinking beer out of cups and musicians playing the harmonica and violin and people dancing and singing and drinking the night away. And women in beautiful colorful dresses.
But instead I always end up at some hot, sweaty place so crowded your can't move and so loud you cannot speak a word to anyone and constant "boonk boonk boonk" sounds killing all your brain cells. _________________ Only the sea makes sense
